Louise Lipman

Louise Lipman is a psychotherapist, psychodramatist, educator, trial consultant, and former professional actress whose career brings together theater, human behavior, group process, and experiential learning. She holds degrees from New York University and Yeshiva University and is a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner (TEP) in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy, as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Group Psychotherapist.
Three Decades of Practice
A Career Teaching Psychodrama
Louise has practiced and taught psychodrama for more than three decades, training professionals throughout the United States and internationally. She is a past president of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama and has received several of the field’s significant honors, including the J. L. Moreno Award.
Bringing Psychodrama to the Courtroom
A Trial Consultant and Longtime Faculty Member
For many years, Louise has also brought psychodrama into the world of trial advocacy. As a trial consultant and longtime faculty member at the Trial Lawyers College, she has helped lawyers use experiential methods to understand clients, witnesses, jurors, relationships, and courtroom dynamics.
Her work emphasizes presence, spontaneity, role reversal, listening, and the ability to respond authentically when the stakes are high.
At Ethos, Louise helps lawyers move beyond simply talking about advocacy and discover what becomes possible when they enter the action and experience it for themselves.
